Meet Megan

I have been designing Brisbane gardens for 15 years. Every garden I design is different and so it should be. It is for you and your site. As a qualified designer and horticulturalist, I am not limited by a ‘formulaic’ approach or a small selection of predictable solutions and planting schemes.

I completed my Diploma of Horticulture in 2006 but my passion for design of all things (including textiles, houses) goes back to my childhood.  This latest passion for the design of gardens started with my first house way back when, so I have always been a gardener.

I pride myself on my use of a wide variety of plants both native and exotic. There is an overwhelming benefit to having diverse plant species in your garden. The greater variety of plants you have, the healthier is the ecosystem in your garden. The plants are more disease and stress resistant, and your garden is home to more birds, bees and butterflies!  Not to mention the delights of having ever-changing scenery to enjoy.

I join forces with a team of brilliant landscapers with whom I have worked for 10 years, to bring our (yours and mine) design to reality.  Together we have won various Landscape Queensland Awards, but more importantly have earned the thanks and gratitude of many, many clients.

My Process

You Talk - you tell me all that you want and need
I Listen - I am a great listener
We Discuss - I ask a lot of questions
I Draw - I love to draw!

Should you choose to use my brilliant landscaping team, I will be with you all the way - until the very last plant is planted. And even after that we are all with you to provide advice or pop in down the track to see how it is all going.

Why choose a qualified designer and AILDM member?

A qualified designer produces a detailed set of plans, allowing you to see all the elements involved, so you or a landscape contractor can build it.

A plan can save you from making costly mistakes, like poor plant choices, unnecessarily expensive design options or a poorly planned works program.

Why spend good money on landscaping and plants if they die after a few months?  It’s all about choosing the species that will work.

As horticulturalists, we assess and test your soil and advise on sustainable soil nutrition.  I choose to use organic products to stimulate the microbes and processes needed to create soil that provides your plants with the best possible chance for growing well.

We have access to the highest quality plants from specialist growers at trade prices, saving you considerable money and worry.

We know where to source all the other elements that go into making your garden ‘yours’- such as walling, paving, stone, planters, furniture, fences and gates.

We can recommend skilled landscapers to build your garden and supervise the project for you.
